Supporting Caregivers in the Workplace

Time - 1pm to 4pm

Location -  Online (Microsoft Teams)

Course content:  

  Develop a shared understanding of the challenges carers face to enable open, proactive discussions in the workplace.  

  Explore legal rights, including adaptations, protection from discrimination, and the importance of fostering an inclusive work environment.  

  Discover how structured conversations can lead to practical, adaptable workplace solutions that balance carers’ needs with business challenges.  

  Engage in conversations that integrate lived experiences and theoretical insights. Reflect on successes and challenges across diverse workplace settings and roles.  

  Leave the session equipped with a practical toolkit to guide your efforts in supporting carers within your organisation.

Who is leading this course?
Dr. Rachel King is Senior Lecturer in Biological Psychology and a researcher in the Cognitive Aging and Dementia group. She has previously worked on quality of life in care partners of individuals living with dementia and has an interest in practical implementation in real world settings.
