Wednesday 18th September 2024 at 4 pm - 5.30 pm.

This online course provides information on the most recent legal developments and cases in criminal law for teaching on the Law A level.  This course is suitable for Law teachers of the OCR, AQA or WJEC A level Law specifications. 

This 90 minute session will be delivered by Dr Amy Elkington .  Amy is a Criminal Law expert with almost 20 years experience of teaching Law and extensive experience of examining A level Law.  (https://www.chi.ac.uk/people/amy-elkington)

The session will cover recent case developments on actus reus, homicide, property offences, and criminal defences.  There will also be discussion of the Law Commission's current project on defences for victims of domestic abuse who kill their abuser.

This professional development session is aimed at Law teachers who are already familiar with the law, but want to update and extend their knowledge of Criminal Law.  There will also be time for question and answer at the end of the session.
